Moving to Alanya

As a professional chef from Toronto, I’ve spent most of my life surrounded by the noise of busy kitchens, the heat of stoves, and the pressure of delivering perfection every night. I loved my job, but after years of nonstop intensity, I dreamed of a place where I could slow down, experiment with Mediterranean ingredients, and maybe even start my own small cooking studio.

My journey led me to Turkey, a country with one of the richest culinary traditions I’ve ever encountered. To find the right home, I browsed https://yektahomes.com/, where I discovered a cozy apartment near the local markets of Alanya. The idea of waking up early, walking to buy fresh vegetables, olives, and spices, and cooking without rush sounded like paradise.

Thanks to the straightforward buying process and helpful guidance, I settled in quickly. Today, I host small cooking workshops for tourists and locals, sharing recipes inspired by both Turkish and Canadian cuisine. Moving here was one of the best decisions of my career.

It’s great to see a community focused on well-being and finding balance, because I’ve never felt more mentally drained than during the final phase of my PhD. I remember the constant knot of stress in my shoulders from endless hours poring over research, and the immense financial pressure of the degree only made the whole process feel heavier. I realized that true self-care sometimes means strategically managing the most daunting tasks, and finding a trustworthy solution for Affordable phd thesis writing wasn't a shortcut, but a necessary step to manage my total load and allow me to focus on my core intellectual contribution instead of just surviving the word count.
